NEWARK, NJ — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in a business burglary that occurred Monday.
At approximately 2:10 a.m., a delivery driver arrived at Wendy’s, located at 447 Springfield Avenue, and observed rolls of pennies on the ground near the restaurant’s front entrance.
After police arrived, they discovered a broken window and a small black hammer on the ground.
Police later reviewed the restaurant’s surveillance footage, which showed a suspect striking the window with the hammer and entering the restaurant.
The suspect walked into the restaurant’s office area and removed two boxes of coins valued at $125.
The suspect is described as wearing a black jacket, black pants and red sneakers.
