NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of breaking into a vehicle and stealing a bank card.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:59 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2026, in a parking lot in the 100 block of Washington Street, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr.
Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the vehicle and taking the victim’s bank card before exiting and walking toward Raymond Boulevard.
The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
The suspect later attempted to use the stolen bank card but was unsuccessful.
