Two-vehicle crash reported in Addison

ADDISON, VT — A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of VT Route 17 and VT Route 22A in Addison on Feb. 24 at approximately 9:22 a.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the New Haven Barracks responded to the scene, where they determined that Jose Giral Lopez, 45, of South Burlington was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on VT Route 17.

Police said Giral Lopez failed to yield the right of way to approaching traffic on VT Route 22A.

His vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Robert Jackman, 45, of Bridport, who was traveling at approximately 35 mph.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

No injuries were reported.

The Chevrolet sustained damage to the driver’s side, while the Jeep had front-end damage.

Giral Lopez was issued citations for failing to stop or yield at an intersection and for operating an unregistered vehicle.
