SPRINGFIELD, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 southbound near mile marker 40.4 on Feb. 23, 2026.
Quinn T. Cassidy, 25, of Keene, New Hampshire, was driving a 2021 Subaru Forester southbound at approximately 3:13 p.m. when a vehicle in front of him braked suddenly.
Cassidy attempted to slow down but lost traction on the snow-covered roadway, causing his vehicle to spin out and strike a guardrail.
The Subaru sustained moderate rear bumper damage and was towed from the scene.
No injuries were reported.
Light snow was falling at the time of the crash.
