MENDON, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a head-on collision that occurred on US Route 4 near Meadow Lake Drive on Feb. 20, 2026.
The crash was reported at approximately 4:39 p.m. during snowy conditions with snow-covered roads.
Police said Kimber Mills, 37, of Rutland, was traveling west on US Route 4 when she failed to maintain her lane.
Mills’ 2006 Chrysler Town and Country collided head-on with a 2019 Toyota Rav4 driven by Taelor Gale, 32, of Chittenden, who was traveling east.
Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway.
Mills and her passenger, Kaleena Meighan, 43, of Rutland, sustained minor injuries.
Both were wearing seat belts.
Gale, who was also wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Both vehicles sustained front-end damage.
The Vermont State Police-Rutland Barracks responded to the scene with assistance from the Rutland City Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service and Carrara’s Towing.
