STROUDSBURG, PA — Police arrested two people Saturday night after they allegedly knocked over multiple ice sculptures during the town’s annual Winterfest celebration.

Stroud Area Regional Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of Main Street near the Sherman Theater at approximately 9:37 p.m. for a report of a damaged ice sculpture.

A caller reported seeing a male and female knock over the ice sculpture in front of the Sherman Theater before walking west on Main Street.

Officers located the suspects in the 700 block of Main Street based on the caller’s description.

The two suspects admitted to knocking over the ice sculpture, police said.

Officers were then alerted to another damaged ice sculpture in front of EZ Taqueria, also located in the 500 block of Main Street.

The store owner provided a photograph of the individuals who knocked over their ice sculpture.

Police identified them as the same male and female who damaged the sculpture in front of the Sherman Theater.

Charges will be filed upon completion of the investigation.

The ice sculptures were purchased by individual businesses on Main Street as part of their participation in Stroudsburg’s annual Winterfest, held Saturday.

The incident is separate from another case of criminal mischief to an ice sculpture at Dreher Insurance Agency, police said.
