Single-vehicle crash reported in West Haven

WEST HAVEN, VT — A New York man crashed into a utility pole on Vermont Route 22A on February 20, 2026.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks were notified of the single-vehicle crash at approximately 2:38 p.m.

Sun-Il Kim, 43, of New York, New York, was traveling north on Vermont Route 22A near Long Hill when he failed to maintain his lane of travel, according to police.

The 2024 Tesla Model Y exited the west side of the roadway and collided with a utility pole before coming to an uncontrolled position of rest.

Kim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

A passenger, Steffi Lee, 39, of New York, New York, was also in the vehicle and wearing a seat belt.

No injuries were reported.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage to the driver’s side.

Road conditions were snow covered and it was snowing at the time of the crash.

The West Haven Fire Department and Fair Haven Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.

A Vermont Civil Violation Complaint is pending.
