Man arrested on order of protection violation in Auburn

AUBURN, NY — A man was arrested after police responded to a reported order of protection violation on Hoffman Street.

Members of the Auburn Police Department were dispatched to an address on Hoffman Street on Feb. 19 for a reported order of protection violation between Charles Williams and a protected party.

Prior to patrol’s arrival, it was confirmed that there was a full stay away order of protection between Williams and the alleged victim.

When officers arrived on scene, they were allowed into the residence and advised where Williams and the alleged protected party were located.

Upon making contact with Williams, he was detained without issue.

Officers continued their investigation and positively identified the female in the bedroom with Williams as the protected party.

Williams was subsequently transported to Auburn Police Department headquarters where he was processed on charges of aggravated family offense, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Williams was transported to the Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment.
