Apartment fire in Lansing

LANSING, NY — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to an apartment fire Tuesday afternoon in the Village of Lansing.

The Cayuga Heights Fire Department was dispatched at 5:37 p.m. on an automatic mutual aid assignment.

Quint 231 and Engines 203 and 202 from Cayuga Heights responded to the scene.

Quint 231 was the first suppression apparatus to arrive.

Firefighters from the unit stretched a hoseline for fire attack and deployed an aerial ladder for ventilation.

Cayuga Heights firefighters contributed to fire attack, ventilation and search efforts alongside firefighters from Lansing Fire Department and Ithaca Fire Department.

The fire was brought under control.
