NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of stealing a package from a residence.
The theft occurred at approximately 4:43 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of S. 17th Street.
The victim reported that a package containing a rug valued at over $150 was taken from his residence.
The suspect was wearing a gray peacoat with a light gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, and black and white Vans.
Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
