Man wanted on chop shop charges in Hazleton

HAZLETON, PA — Police are seeking a 50-year-old man wanted on 19 felony counts related to operating a chop shop.

Jose L. Martinez-Perez is wanted by the Hazleton City Police Department on charges including owning, operating or conducting a chop shop, receiving stolen property and disposition of vehicle or vehicle part with altered identification.

The warrant was issued Oct. 19 in connection with an incident on West Broad Street.

Martinez-Perez is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or submit an anonymous tip through the department’s Crimewatch page.
