CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 41-year-old man was arrested on multiple drug and driving charges following a traffic stop on Route 11.
Mathew R. Stone, of Sempronius, was stopped by Cortland County Sheriff’s Office officers at 1:16 p.m. on Feb. 13.
Officers discovered Stone was operating the vehicle while his New York State driver’s license was revoked.
Officers determined Stone was driving while impaired by drugs and found him in possession of controlled substances, according to the sheriff’s office.
Stone was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, also a felony.
He was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and driving while ability impaired by drugs, all misdemeanors.
Stone was additionally charged with unlicensed operation and failure to signal less than 100 feet, both infractions.
He was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Stone was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 p.m. on Feb. 13 and remanded to Cortland County Jail without bail.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. in Cortlandville Town Court.
