NEW LONDON, CT — A man died after being shot on Connecticut Avenue on Feb. 15.
The New London Police Department responded to a shots fired call between Prest Street and McDonald Street at approximately 7:19 p.m.
Officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremity.
Officers rendered medical aid at the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital.
The man was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival at the hospital.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending proper notification of next of kin.
The Detective Division has assumed the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
Detectives are processing evidence and canvassing the area.
