Man arrested on felony DWI charge in Manlius

MANLIUS, NY — A Cazenovia man faces felony charges after a single-vehicle crash that injured a juvenile passenger on Feb. 14.

Douglas Murdie, 41, was arrested following the collision on North Eagle Village Road near Townsend Road at approximately 11:03 p.m.

Police said Murdie crashed onto the shoulder of the roadway, causing damage to the vehicle.

A juvenile passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated by EMS on scene before being transported to University Hospital in Syracuse.

Officers determined Murdie had consumed alcohol prior to driving, and sobriety tests indicated he was intoxicated, police said.

Murdie was charged with felony aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor DWI with .08 or higher blood alcohol content, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and a traffic infraction for moving from a lane unsafely.

He was released with appearance tickets for Manlius Town Court.
