TOPSHAM, ME — A Sagadahoc County Grand Jury has indicted a Hermon woman on manslaughter and other charges stemming from a fatal head-on crash last year.
Lacey Wiles, 26, was indicted Feb. 13 on charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault, OUI causing death, aggravated driving to endanger and OUI causing injury.
The charges relate to Wiles’ role as the driver in an Oct. 4 crash on Route 196 at the Merrymeeting Bridge that killed her passenger, 23-year-old Marcus Steinman of Topsham.
The crash also seriously injured 34-year-old Joseph Lemont of Bowdoin.
The crash occurred at 10:38 p.m.
Wiles was taken into custody Feb. 13 by the Maine State Police and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
She is being held on $50,000 cash bail.
