JOHNSON, VT — A traffic stop for speeding on Vermont Route 15 led to the arrest of a motorist on a DUI charge.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks were conducting stationary radar speed enforcement along Vermont Route 15 near Moose Alley at approximately 11:06 p.m. Feb. 13, 2026.
A vehicle was observed traveling 68 mph in a posted 50 mph zone.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the operator was identified as Aaron M. Preston, 36, of Johnson.
While speaking with Preston, troopers identified several indicators of impairment.
He was screened and subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Preston was transported to the Morristown Police Department for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on March 4, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charge of DUI, second offense.
