CLAREMONT, NH — A man was arrested following an emergency public safety alert issued by the Hartford Police Department regarding children in danger.
J’kem Woodson was taken into custody in Claremont, and the twin boys are safe, according to Hartford police.
The Vermont Department of Children and Families had notified Woodson by telephone that they had an emergency custody order for twin boys in his custody.
Woodson hung up on DCF and turned off his phone, police said.
Woodson had physically harmed the children in the past and threatened to kill them, according to police.
He was last known to be operating a silver 2010 Kia Soul with New Hampshire registration 5129614.
Police warned he may have been armed with a handgun.
Hartford police had urged the public not to approach Woodson or his vehicle and to call 911 immediately if spotted.
