House fire extinguished in Valley Stream

VALLEY STREAM, NY — Firefighters responded to a house fire on South Waldinger Street at 3 p.m. today.

Upon arrival, crews found fire on the exterior of the home that had extended to the second floor and attic.

Multiple hand lines were deployed and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Nassau County Police Department officers removed one dog from the home.

Police and Valley Stream firefighters assisted residents in evacuating the home.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office.

Engine 344 and Tower Ladder 345 were first due.

All operations were under the command of Chief of Department Anthony Capone.
