Driver extricated from vehicle after rollover crash in Somers

SOMERS, NY — Emergency crews freed a trapped motorist from an overturned vehicle following a three-car crash on Route 118 Thursday night.

The Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene at 8:39 p.m. after receiving reports of a rollover accident with entrapment.

Firefighters arrived to find three vehicles involved in the collision, with one person trapped inside a vehicle.

Crews stabilized the overturned vehicle before extricating the trapped occupant.

Emergency medical services personnel evaluated the patient at the scene before transporting them to a local hospital.

Route 118 remained closed for approximately one hour while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Multiple Somers fire apparatus responded, including three engines and three ambulances, along with Westchester EMS and Somers police.
