GLENS FALLS, NY — Members of the Glens Falls Police Department’s B-Line and C-Line shifts responded to two separate incidents on Feb. 10, 2026.

In both cases, officers quickly and effectively applied tourniquets, delivering life-saving care to two individuals suffering from severe bleeding.

The Glens Falls Fire Department also responded to both scenes, continued medical treatment, and transported the individuals to Glens Falls Hospital for further care.

In both incidents, the injuries were determined to be self-inflicted, and there was no threat to the public.

The Glens Falls Police Department conducts annual “Stop the Bleed” training for all officers each spring in partnership with the Glens Falls Fire Department.

During these in-service sessions, members of the Fire Department provide hands-on instruction to Police personnel on controlling massive bleeding through the use of tourniquets and other life-saving medical equipment.

This collaborative training prepares members to respond effectively to critical incidents involving serious trauma or life-threatening bleeding and proved exceptionally valuable on Feb. 10, 2026.

Assistant Chief Diamond of the Police Department said, “I would like to thank the Fire Department for providing this training and I commend the officers that utilized their training in a practical way resulting in two lives being saved.”

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by dialing or texting 988.

In addition, the Glens Falls Police Department has a social worker available, and officers are on duty 24/7 to respond within the city.
