DELHI, NY — A Bloomville man was arrested Feb. 1, 2026, after allegedly attempting to evade deputies during a traffic stop.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle without an inspection sticker traveling on Main Street in the village that afternoon, according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.
When deputies activated their emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle attempted to elude them, DuMond said.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as David Quackenbush, 57, of Bloomville.
An investigation revealed Quackenbush’s New York state driver’s license was expired and his Tennessee driver’s license was suspended, according to the sheriff’s office.
Quackenbush was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
He was also issued tickets for operating an uninspected motor vehicle, speeding and unlicensed operation, all violations of the state Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Quackenbush was released on appearance tickets and uniform traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Delhi Town Court at a later date.
