PALMYRA, NY — A juvenile has been arrested following a child sexual abuse investigation in the village.
The Palmyra Police Department announced the arrest of a juvenile offender on multiple felony charges.
The investigation began on Sept. 19 when allegations were disclosed during an ongoing investigation.
A forensic interview was conducted during which the child victim disclosed being subjected to sexual abuse over several years.
Police allege the juvenile offender, who is the victim’s older sibling, subjected the victim to repeated sexual contact over approximately five years, from 2018 through March 2023.
The juvenile offender was arrested at 4:33 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2026.
The juvenile was charged with incest in the first degree, criminal sexual act in the first degree, course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, and sexual abuse in the first degree.
All charges are felonies.
The juvenile offender was processed at the Palmyra Police Department and released to a legal guardian with appearance tickets to Wayne County Probation.
An order of protection will be sought on behalf of the victim.
