PLAINFIELD, NJ — South Plainfield firefighters responded to a second alarm structure fire on the 300 block of Bergen Street on Thursday evening.
Truck 7 was dispatched to the scene at 6:47 p.m. as part of a mutual aid request.
Upon arrival, the crew helped extinguish fire on the second floor of the structure.
Firefighters then assisted with overhaul operations on the second and third floors.
The following morning at 12:18 p.m., Engine 6 from South Plainfield was requested to respond to a working fire on Redfield Drive at the Redfield Village Apartment Complex in Metuchen.
The Engine 6 crew was initially assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team.
The crew was later reassigned to conduct secondary searches of the fire floor.
