Woman arrested on forgery charge in Homer

HOMER, NY — A Cortland woman was arrested on a warrant charging her with using a counterfeit bill at a local business.

Rose M. Moody, 24, of Cortland, was taken into custody at approximately 5:26 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2026, at Town of Homer Court on 4 Water St.

Police said the arrest warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on Nov. 3 at Classy Canna, where Moody allegedly used a counterfeit bill to purchase items.

Moody was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree, a class C felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance on Feb. 11, 2026.

Moody is scheduled to appear in Town of Homer Court on Feb. 17, 2026, at 5 p.m.
