CENTRAL FALLS, RI — Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a Pawtucket woman on a child abuse charge on Feb. 10, 2026.
Samantha Romeo, 36, of Pawtucket, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Central Falls Police Department.
Romeo was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Central Falls Police Department.
Man arrested on murder-related warrant in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested an East Providence man on a warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on Feb. 10, 2026.
Ronald Steele, 53, of East Providence, was arrested on a Providence County Superior Court warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on a technical violation for an original charge of murder originating from the Providence Police Department.
Steele was taken into custody without incident and transported to Providence Superior Court.
Three arrested on fraud charges in Scituate

SCITUATE, RI — Members of the Rhode Island State Police Financial Crimes Unit arrested three people on fraud charges on Feb. 10, 2026.
Lakesha Lopez, 46, of Pawtucket, was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses/personation greater than $10,000 and access to computer for fraudulent purposes.
Melissa Stringfellow, 41, of Riverside, was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses/personation greater than $10,000 and access to computer for fraudulent purposes.
Tobias Gray, 51, of Pawtucket, was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses/personation greater than $10,000 and access to computer for fraudulent purposes.
All three were processed at State Police Headquarters and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
All three were released with future Third District Court dates.
