PHILLIPSBURG, NJ — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a shooting incident.
Justin J. Makuta, 22, of Phillipsburg, is wanted on charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and tampering with evidence.
Officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Rand Boulevard on Aug. 31 for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene and a suspect vehicle occupied by two individuals.
Two arrests were made at the scene.
Through an investigation, witness statements and search warrants, Makuta was identified as a third suspect responsible for the incident, according to police.
Makuta’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but he may be in the Allentown, Pennsylvania, area.
Police warn that Makuta should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Makuta is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.
