ALBANY, NY — A Mechanicville man has been arrested in connection with an October shooting on Washington Avenue.
Youseph Mejias, 24, of Mechanicville, was taken into custody during the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Mechanicville.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Washington Avenue near Lexington Avenue around 1:35 a.m. Oct. 12 for reports of a shooting.
Officers found evidence consistent with gunfire, but no gunshot victim was located at the scene.
Staff from Albany Memorial Hospital notified police that a 24-year-old man entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his arm.
Mejias has been charged with one count of attempted murder in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
