Man arrested on child exploitation charges in Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, NY — State Police arrested a 27-year-old man on child sexual exploitation charges following an investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Devin M. Brown, of Johnstown, was arrested Feb. 6, 2026, and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

State Police from Fonda, assisted by the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at Brown’s residence in Johnstown on Feb. 6, 2026.

Brown is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

He was transported to State Police barracks in Fonda where he was processed.

Brown was arraigned at Johnstown Town Court and remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash, a $25,000 bond or a $150,000 partially secured bond.
