Vehicle overturns on U.S. Route 9 in Searsburg

SEARSBURG, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. Route 9.

Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:57 p.m. Feb. 8, 2026.

Upon arrival, troopers located a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek that had left the roadway and overturned.

The vehicle sustained moderate to significant damage to the driver’s side.

The operator was identified as Stephanie Clausnitzer, 39, of Bennington.

Clausnitzer was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the airbags were deployed.

No injuries were reported.

Road conditions at the time were wet and slushy, while weather conditions were clear.

Chippy’s Towing and Deerfield Valley Medical assisted troopers at the scene.
