Two-vehicle crash on US Route 7 in Pownal

POWNAL, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on US Route 7 on February 6, 2026.

Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:26 p.m.

Police said Deborah A. Wall, 67, of Pownal, was traveling northbound on US Route 7 when her 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class struck the rear of a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek.

The Subaru was operated by Jake Robert Baskin, 29, of Madison, Connecticut.

Baskin’s vehicle was stopped in the northbound lane, waiting to turn into the Stewart’s parking lot at the time of the crash.

Wall’s vehicle sustained significant front-end damage and was towed from the scene by Walt’s Service.

The Subaru sustained minor rear-end damage.

No injuries were reported.

Both operators were wearing seat belts.

The crash occurred during snowy weather and wet road conditions.

Wall was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for unreasonable and imprudent speed for conditions and hazards.
