Man arrested on warrants in East Greenwich

EAST GREENWICH, RI — A Warwick man was arrested early Monday on two outstanding warrants following a traffic stop.

Mason C. Doughty, 40, of Warwick, was taken into custody at 1:40 a.m. on Division Road, according to Rhode Island State Police.

Troopers from the Hope Valley Barracks stopped Doughty’s vehicle and discovered he was wanted on two bench warrants.

The first warrant was issued by Kent County Superior Court for a technical violation on an original charge of manufacturing, distributing or possessing a Schedule I/II controlled substance, not drug dependent, first offense.

That charge originated with the Warwick Police Department.

The second warrant was issued by Providence County Superior Court for a technical violation on an original charge of manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to deliver a Schedule I/II controlled substance.

That charge originated with the Pawtucket Police Department.

Doughty was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.

He was later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution.
