Man arrested on reckless conduct charges in Dover

DOVER, NH — A Dover man was arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots from a pistol following an altercation on Fourth Street early Monday morning.

Christopher E. Mills, 31, of Dover, was taken into custody at approximately 9 a.m. outside the Holiday Inn Express at 77 Farmington Road in Rochester.

Dover Police Chief David A. Terlemezian said officers responded to the area of Fourth Street at around 1 a.m. Monday after shots were fired.

Responding officers located several witnesses who reported a man fired multiple shots from a pistol after an altercation in the street.

The witnesses described the subject as firing shots into the ground and into the air.

They also reported the man pointed the pistol at a specific individual.

The suspect had left the area prior to police arrival.

No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

Through investigation, responding officers learned Mills was the suspect.

The Strafford County Regional Tactical Operations Unit took Mills into custody.

Mills was charged with two counts of Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon, a Class A felony, and one count of Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, also a Class A felony.

Mills is being held at the Strafford County House of Correction.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Dover District Court at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
