Woman arrested on retail theft charge in Ephrata

EPHRATA, PA — A 60-year-old woman was arrested on a retail theft charge at a Walmart store Monday afternoon.

The Ephrata Police Department was dispatched to Walmart, 890 E. Main St., at 12:49 p.m. for a shoplifter in custody.

Walmart Loss Prevention witnessed Michele N. Roda, of Lancaster, conceal multiple items in her purse and a Starbucks bag.

Roda failed to scan 29 items concealed, valued at $148.66, and walked past all points of sale, police said.

Roda was arrested and transported to the Ephrata Police Department for processing.

She was issued a non-traffic summary citation for retail theft and released.
