WELLS RIVER, VT — A pickup truck slid on a snow-covered road and struck a food trailer early Sunday morning, causing minor injuries to a man inside.
Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were dispatched to the crash on Main Street North at approximately 6:20 a.m.
Nicholas LaRose, 21, of Perkinsville, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado east and downhill on U.S. Route 302 approaching Main Street North when he lost traction on the snow-covered road, according to police.
The Chevrolet crossed Main Street North and entered the driveway where Hatchbox is located.
The truck came to an uncontrolled rest after striking the Hatchbox food trailer.
Michael Arnold, 42, of Wells River, the owner and operator of Hatchbox, was inside the food trailer at the time of the collision and suffered suspected minor injuries.
He was evaluated and treated by EMS and not transported to the hospital.
LaRose was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
A passenger in the vehicle, Alyssa Vance, 18, of Newbury, was also wearing a seat belt.
The Chevrolet sustained minor front-end damage.
The Wells River Fire Department and Woodsville Ambulance responded to the scene with troopers.
Roads were snow and ice covered at the time of the crash, and it was snowing.
