Police seek help locating missing woman in Newark

NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Newark woman.

Sandra Shanks, 60, of Newark, was last seen at her place of employment, Marion P. Thomas School, at 2:10 p.m. on Jan. 30, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr.

Shanks is described as 5’8″ tall and 160 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a red coat, black flats, a curly wig, and glasses.

Her mental and physical conditions are good, Miranda said.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sandra Shanks is urged to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
