CHELSEA, MA — A 51-year-old Chelsea man faces trafficking and firearms charges following a two-month drug investigation.
Ricardo Molina was arrested Thursday morning by members of the Chelsea Police Department Drug Unit on charges of trafficking in cocaine, possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition.
The arrest followed an investigation into Molina’s alleged distribution of cocaine in the city.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Molina’s residence on Marlborough Street from Chelsea District Court.
The warrant was executed Thursday, resulting in the recovery of evidence related to the charges.
Molina was arraigned in Chelsea District Court on Friday.
“This arrest is the result of focused investigative work by our Drug Unit officers who remain committed to keeping dangerous drugs and illegal firearms out of our neighborhoods,” said Chief Keith Houghton.
“We will continue to pursue those who traffic narcotics in our community and threaten public safety,” Houghton said.
