CHAMBERSBURG, PA — Police arrested a man early Saturday morning after he allegedly fired a gunshot at another person, missing the intended target but striking a residential building.
Nathaniel Micah Stevens, 22, of Pennsylvania, was taken into custody at approximately 6:45 a.m. Saturday.
The Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of South Hackberry Drive at approximately 12:01 a.m. Saturday for a report of shots fired.
After further investigation, police determined that Stevens arrived in the area and attempted to shoot a victim.
Stevens missed the victim, but the bullet struck a residential building with two additional residents inside, according to police.
Stevens was charged with one count of criminal attempt homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, three counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of firearms not to be carried without a license.
Police said the public is not in danger.
The suspect and victim were known to each other and the suspect solely targeted the victim, according to police.
