WHITE PLAINS, NY — A traffic stop on the Hutchinson River Parkway led to the seizure of more than 1,500 grams of fentanyl on Feb. 5, 2026.
Members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit and the New York State Police Special Investigations Unit stopped a vehicle traveling southbound at approximately 1:53 p.m. for multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle revealed an aftermarket, electronically operated hidden compartment containing multiple packages of fentanyl.
The sole occupant was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, an A-I felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, a class B felony.
The operator was arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
