Woman arrested on drug charges in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY — A Whitehall woman was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 87 on Feb. 4, 2026.

Katrina A. Haeger, 38, was stopped by members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit at approximately 11:50 a.m. while traveling northbound in the Town of Newburgh for multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.

A search of the vehicle revealed more than two pounds of cocaine concealed inside.

A further search of Haeger resulted in the recovery of approximately two grams of fentanyl and 4.4 grams of heroin.

Haeger was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, an A-I felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (intent to sell), a class B felony; and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.

She was arraigned in the Village of Goshen Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
