Scam calls reported in Berkley

BERKLEY, MA — Police are warning residents about scam phone calls from people falsely claiming to represent the department and requesting donations.

The Berkley Police Department said it has received multiple reports of the fraudulent calls.

Police Chief Arthur Newhook Jr. said the department and the Berkley Police Association never call residents asking for donations.

Authorities are urging anyone who receives such a call not to provide any personal or financial information.

Residents who receive the calls are asked to report the incident to the Berkley Police Department.
