WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA — Police have charged a 38-year-old man with simple assault following a domestic disturbance.
Cody M. Hess, of Lancaster, was arrested Sunday after officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Penn Grant Road at approximately 6:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that Hess had engaged in a verbal argument with his girlfriend.
As the verbal argument escalated, Hess threw a glass bottle at his girlfriend and then left the residence before police arrived, according to authorities.
A few hours later, officers were able to make contact with Hess and take him into custody.
Hess was later arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison.
He is awaiting a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Benner.
