CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 44-year-old man was arrested on a petit larceny charge after allegedly stealing merchandise from a Walmart.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walmart at 819 Bennie Road at approximately 4:53 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2026, for a report of a larceny.
Luis A. Morales, of Cortland, was determined to have stolen merchandise from the store, according to the sheriff’s office.
Morales was arrested at 5:11 p.m. and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court on Feb. 23, 2026, at 1 p.m. for arraignment.
