AUBURN, NY — A man was arrested on felony charges after allegedly cashing a check without sufficient funds at a local bank last summer.

Charles P. Tuttle, also known as Argus F. Mela’Occio, went to Generations Bank at 621 N. Seward Ave. in July and withdrew more than $3,000 after writing a check to himself, according to Lt. S. Deyo.

Police said Tuttle knowingly did not have sufficient funds in his account when he obtained the money.

Tuttle was given time to repay the money but willfully did not do so, police said.

An arrest warrant was obtained and Tuttle was subsequently arrested.

He was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class E felony, and issuing a bad check, a class A misdemeanor.
