SWATARA TOWNSHIP, PA — A man who was reported lying undressed in a roadway attacked a woman who stopped to help him and stole her vehicle before crashing a short distance away, police said.
Dauphin County Communications received a report at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2026, of a suspicious male at 32nd and Wayne streets.
Callers reported the male was undressing and had laid down in the roadway.
A female Good Samaritan stopped to check on the man and provide assistance.
The man immediately began to attack the woman and threw her to the ground, police said.
He then got into the Good Samaritan’s car and sped away.
The man crashed the car a short distance away.
A Swatara Township Police K-9 handler was in the area and arrived on scene within two minutes.
After being given verbal commands, the man aggressively ran toward the officer and victim and was apprehended by K-9 Santi.
Mubarak Amin, 28, of Carlisle, was taken into custody and charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, evading arrest or detention on foot, simple assault and DUI.
He was arraigned and committed to the Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
