False alarm prompts police response in Warren

WARREN, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating false reports of a burglary and shooting that prompted a large police presence in Warren Village on Feb. 5, 2026.

Troopers responded to Main Street at 8:58 p.m. for reports of a burglary in progress and a shooting.

Upon arrival, troopers determined the reports were false.

The incident remains under investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Berlin Barracks at 802-229-9191 or submit an anonymous tip online at https://vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.
