SUTTON, MA — A police officer was injured when his cruiser was struck from behind while he was assisting at a crash scene on Route 146 South on Feb. 2, 2026.
The Sutton Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at approximately 5:43 p.m.
While Officer Danna was assisting Massachusetts State Police at the scene, his cruiser was struck from behind, temporarily pinning him inside the vehicle.
The Sutton Fire Department and MedStar ALS extricated Officer Danna from the cruiser.
He was transported to UMass Medical Center for evaluation.
Officer Danna has since been released and is home recovering from minor injuries.
The operator of the vehicle that struck the cruiser was taken into custody by Massachusetts State Police.
The operator was charged with operating under the influence of drugs and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
