WALTON, NY — A Sidney man was arrested after authorities say he was found in possession of two pistols during a traffic stop.

James Nash, 45, of Sidney, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies on Delaware Street on Jan. 26, according to Sheriff Craig DuMond.

Deputies discovered Nash was in possession of two black powder pistols during the investigation, DuMond said.

Further investigation revealed Nash is a convicted felon and prohibited by law from possessing the pistols, according to the sheriff.

Nash was arrested on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, class A misdemeanors.

He was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear in Village of Walton Court at a later date to answer the charges.
