SCHODACK, NY — A 39-year-old man has been arrested following a sexual assault investigation that began over the weekend.
Bobby E. Baker, of Schodack, was taken into custody Thursday morning after Schodack Police completed their investigation.
Police responded to the Victorian Motel at 752 Columbia Turnpike on Saturday at about 9 a.m. for a report of sexual assault.
Officers interviewed a female victim who reported she had been raped by Baker.
Baker was arraigned at Schodack Town Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility.
Bail was set at $20,000 cash or insurance company bail bond, or $30,000 partially secured appearance bond.
Baker is charged with one count of third-degree rape, a class E felony.
