SULLIVAN COUNTY, NH — Police arrested a wanted fugitive after he barricaded himself inside a residence on Cottage Street on Feb. 4, 2026.

Officers responded to the location after receiving information that Cody L. Jennison, 23, of Newport, NH may be at the residence.

Jennison had an active arrest warrant for a felony-level violation of probation and an electronic bench warrant for non-appearance in court on a misdemeanor-level offense.

When officers attempted to arrest Jennison, he barricaded himself inside the residence along with Brianna Tarrien, 26, of Newport.

Police requested mutual aid from the Claremont and Sunapee police departments and established a perimeter around the residence.

Officers obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of the residence with K9 Handler Walter Anderson and his K9 partner, Mako.

K9 Mako located Tarrien hiding in an upstairs bedroom and apprehended her when she did not submit to arrest.

Tarrien was treated on the scene for minor injuries from the apprehension and taken into custody for felony-level hindering apprehension and misdemeanor-level resisting arrest or detention.

She was processed and released on bail pending arraignment in the 5th Circuit Court.

K9 Mako continued his search for Jennison and alerted to a crawl space behind the wall of a bedroom.

K9 Mako located Jennison hiding underneath furniture and other debris in the crawl space.

Jennison surrendered and was taken into custody on his active warrants and a new misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest or detention.

He was transported to the Sullivan County House of Corrections without bail pending hearings.
