34 arrests reported in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Police made 34 arrests between Jan. 26 and Jan. 31, according to the White Plains Public Safety Department.

On Jan. 26, a 29-year-old homeless man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and tampering with physical evidence after a field investigation at Quarropas and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The man was found in possession of crack cocaine and was released with a future court date.

On Jan. 27, a 37-year-old homeless woman was charged with burglary in the third degree and petit larceny after shoplifting $39.45 worth of merchandise from ShopRite at 13 City Place.

The woman committed the theft while an active bar out was in place and was held for arraignment.

On Jan. 28, a 34-year-old White Plains woman was charged with two counts of petit larceny at 135 Westchester Avenue after an investigation into two separate shoplifting incidents that occurred in 2025.

She was released with a future court date.

On Jan. 29, a 22-year-old White Plains woman was charged with menacing in the second degree, assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child following a physical altercation between a landlord and tenant at 17 Ridgeview Avenue.

She was held for arraignment and an order of protection was served.

On Jan. 30, a 45-year-old White Plains man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a routine traffic stop at Prospect Street and Davis Avenue.

His vehicle was impounded and he was released with a future court date.

On Jan. 31, a 34-year-old homeless man was charged with burglary in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree after entering and remaining unlawfully in the lobby of a building at 141 South Lexington Avenue and causing damage to the management office.

He was held for arraignment.

On Jan. 31, a 23-year-old man from Elmsford was arrested for robbery in the second degree at 125 Westchester Avenue after forcibly stealing merchandise and causing injury to another person.

He was held for arraignment.

Other arrests during the period included two city ordinance violations, two DWI charges, four larceny charges, one criminal possession of a controlled substance charge, six criminal trespass charges, two disorderly conduct charges, one obstructing governmental administration charge and one warrant arrest.
